A total of fifty products include notebooks, storage controller, motherboard, PCI Express and ExpressCard add-in cards and hard disk drives have passed SuperSpeed USB compliance testing by the USB Implementers Forum.
USB 3.0, or often called by marketers as SuperSpeed, provides data transfer speeds 10 times faster than USB 2.0, or Hi-Speed USB.
Chairman of the non profit USB IF, Jeff Ravencraft said that now Superspeed USB is a viable product, testing and certification for products are increasing. The standard was developed by HP, Intel, Microsoft, NEC, ST-Ericsson and Texas Instruments.

Apogee Astro Drive A101 is the smallest USB 3.0 device on the market at least until now, although we sure that the situation will change soon. Astro Drive A101 capable of achieving read and writes speeds up to 180 MB / sec and 130 MB / sec. comes with a memory range capacity of 32, 64 and 128 GB.
